Gianluigi Viscusi

Associate Professor

My research interests include e-Government, information systems strategy and planning, information value, Science and Technology Studies (STS), business model innovation, collective intelligence, and crowdsourcing.

My research

My research investigates the connection between innovation, value creation, and information systems.

In particular, I am interested in the constitutive emergence of collective forms of organizing and discursive practices in the digitalization of business and society and their implications, especially for two domains: the public sector and media industries.

Focus is on the following research streams on the impact of digital innovation on business and society:

  • Crowd-driven innovation, investigating how collective intelligence and crowd-related technologies affect societal and organizational dynamics.
  • Data-driven business models and valuation with a focus on production and sharing in data spaces.
  • Digital governance, especially considering the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the public sector.
  • Digital transformation of creative industries with a focus on the music industry.
  • Maintenance with a focus on time trajectories and associations in house museums.
  • Valuation and co-creation in science and technology innovation, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics.
