SEK 26.3 million for research in educational sciences

Seven research projects at LiU have been awarded grants in the Swedish Research Council鈥檚 annual funding round for educational sciences. The projects range from heroes wearing tights in the classroom to background noise and bullying.

Professor rushes to school to solve maths problem

What鈥檚 zero to the power of zero? When an eighth-year pupil asked that question, Jonas Bergman Ärlebäck, senior lecturer at LiU鈥檚 Department of Mathematics, had to rush over to a local primary school to discuss mathematics.

Teaching and learning statistics at the secondary level

Research shows that it is challenging for students to learn statistical concepts and methods. Teachers need preparedness and tools to be able to support their students. The project therefore studies the teaching and learning of statistics.

Analysis and Mathematics Education (ANDI)

The Division of Analysis and Mathematics Education conducts both interdisciplinary and applied research in various branches of analysis and didactics of mathematics.

Department of Mathematics (MAI)

The department conducts research in computational mathematics, mathematics and applied mathematics, mathematical statistics, and optimization. We provide courses to students in most degree programmes in mathematics, science and engineering.
