Karin Tonderski

Senior Associate Professor

My research focuses on recycling of nutrients, circular fertilizers and biogas solutions, and actor collaboration regarding those topics. I also have in-depth knowledge about wetlands for eutrophication control.

Teaching

Undergraduate education

I teach topics related to the natural science underlying a variety of environmental problems, but also ways of mitigating those and move towards a more sustainable society. Specifically, I teach in the courses TKMJ24 Environmental Engineering, TKMJ57 Environmental Technology Solutions, and TKMJ51 Corporate Sustainability Managment. I supervise and review Bachelor theses in the program Energy and Environmental Engineering, and am happily supervising and examining Master-projects in the field of environmental engineering and sustainable development, preferably with a systems perspective.

PhD education

Within the Biogas Solutions Research Center, we do PhD education and every year we run the PhD candidate course Biogas solutions, and I teach a section about digestate and biofertilisers management. This course aims at creating a broad understanding and knowledge about the development of biogas solutions, from process technology and biochemical processes to biogas in a systems perspective, societal effects and preconditions for implementation. All lectures are also offered as a lecture series open for those that want to learn more about biogas solutions without participating in the entire course. You can
