Research

My research is mainly focused on studying the optical and structural properties of nanostructures using Mueller matrix Ellipsometry, a method using polarized light and how it is reflected off the material, to find out both optical and mechanical properties. I mostly study chiral materials, naturally occurring (some beetles) as well as artificial ones—like the one in the image .

In addition to nanostructures, I also study the optical properties of different kinds of hard glasses, the kind of glass you could find on your mobile phone, for instance.
