Samira Dorri

My research focuses on synthesizing and characterization of multilayers, superlattices, and superlattice supermirrors of transition metal diborides for applications in Neutron Optics.

Synthesizing multilayers and artificial superlattices using DC magnetron sputtering epitaxy where I can manipulate the growth in the atomic scale is the focus of my research. I apply different characterization techniques such as XRD, XRR, TEM, XPS, ToF-ERDA, RBS, and NR to achieve an in-depth study of the crystalline quality of the structure and the degree of coherency at the interfaces.
