My research in ethics centers on issues related to consequentialism. I also examine topics such as the “ought implies can” principle, whether reasons and duties depend on the agent’s perspective, axiology, the “Why be moral” question, collective responsibility, and moral error theory.
In political philosophy, I am especially interested in normative democratic theory with a particular focus on the boundary problem – the question of who should be entitled to participate in which democratic decision-making. Other areas of interest include liberty, socialism, and the social contract tradition.
