Welcome to the cybersecurity platform at the Department of Computer and Information Science at 91ÊÓƵ. Here you can find information about research and education in cybersecurity, as well as researchers and teachers active in the field.

The SAS division is part of the Department of Computer and Information Science. The division conducts research and education in software engineering and computer systems,  covering both basic research and projects in cooperation with industry.

When the science centre Fenomenmagasinet opens its new premises in the Valla leisure area, it also opens the possibility of closer collaboration with LiU. Researchers Aseel and Erik Berglund will be among the first to move in.

The new cybersecurity lab is a milestone in 91ÊÓƵ´s investment in education in this field. The students should feel that "wow, it's possible to do something exciting here", said Vice-rector Matts Karlsson at the inauguration on 7 May.

Today’s society rests on cyber security and the ability to be one step ahead of hackers. In recent years, a new threat has emerged – AI. However, according to researchers Elisa Bertino and Simin Nadjm-Tehrani, AI could also be part of the solution.

On March 3, Mina Niknafs at the Dept of Computer and Information Science defended her thesis on resource management. "Pursuing a PhD at IDA is an enriching experience that combines academic freedom with a supportive research culture", she says.

Kristian Sandahl and colleagues, SAS, IDA, receive SEK 5,6 million from Vinnova to advance methods for quality assurance of software generated by AI models. With contributions from companies and LiU, the project will turn over almost SEK 18 million.
