The Swedish Research Council has awarded SEK 50 million to LiU. This is the outcome of six calls for proposals where the allocation of grants was recently decided. The research covers areas such as segregation, youth crime and opioid dependence.

Current medical-ethical issues were in focus when the Swedish National Council on Medical Ethics (Smer), celebrating its 40th anniversary, visited 91ÊÓƵ (LiU).

Researchers at universities including 91ÊÓƵ have studied ethical aspects of uterus transplantation. The results show that uterus transplantation with living donors is ethically just as problematic as altruistic surrogacy.
