Access to scholarly information is crucial for all research and teaching in higher education. The Department for Acquisitions purchases print media and manages subscriptions to databases and other electronic resources. Interlibrary loans, book maintenance and repair, and the assignment of ISBNs to LiU publications also falls within our responsibilities.
The department also manages the reception, registration and distribution of legal deposit material. Link枚ping University Library, being one of seven legal deposit libraries in Sweden, receives one copy of every book, journal and other print material intended for distribution in Sweden.
