In 2022 Forum Scientium was finally able to celebrate its 25-year anniversary, after the pandemic. Old and new members from different disciplines could meet and discuss their research.

In late September, the research school was finally able to have the postponed celebration. It was held at Campus US and Campus Valla. Forum Scientium is one of LiU:s most established cross disciplinary research schools, with the purpose to help interactions between tech, natural science and medicine. More than 60 PhD-students and postdocs are members. Rozalyn Simon is the head of management of the school.

- Today was a great success. Such a fantastic reunion of brilliant minds and this type of meeting is really important to lower the barriers between scientific disciplines, she says.

- A lot of the members seem happy to meet and get the opportunity to talk about their research and potential collaborations.

Stefan Welin Klintström, one of the original founders of Forum Scientium, and who is now handing over the leadership to Rozalyn and co-manager, Carolina Brommesson, agrees and hopes that the day will give birth to new projects and collaborations.

- I really hope and believe that all the intensive discussions during the poster sessions will turn into new projects, improvements on existing ones, and in general, a greater use of our resources, both in competence and infrastructure, he says.

- We have active and successful research groups in five institutions, BKV, HMV, IFM, IMT, and ITN, at two faculties and three campuses. Today was a great demonstration of how Forum Scientium enables a good network in the interface between medicine, natural sciences and tech, he says.
